The Troy Trojans look to be unpleasant hosts when the Appalachian State Mountaineers visit Troy Arena.
The Appalachian State Mountaineers have been trying to reverse their fortunes and have had zero success with four consecutive defeats before coming up with the biggest win since joining the Sun Belt when they knocked off conference power Georgia State 74-69 on Saturday. The Mountaineers looked dead in the water as they trailed by ten at the break before a surprising 44-28 second half snatched victory from defeat. ASU only sank shots at 36.7% but totaled 15 more while nailing 12 bombs to counter the better shooting Panthers who were at almost 58% with just a 3-9 effort from distance. Frank Eaves poured in a game high 27 points and snagged five pulls with Tommy Spagnolo adding 22 points and six boards. Chris Burgess followed with 14 points, five yanks and five helpers while the rest of the team mustered eleven points.

The Troy Trojans are managing to stay afloat but if they want to make some noise in the Sun Belt then just staying afloat won't do a bit of good. The Trojans took a step in the right direction with a 75-71 victory versus Georgia Southern as a 5.5 point home dog Saturday. The Eagles had a slight 43%-40.7% shooting edge with GSU owning four more field goal but Troy winning it with a 19-4 advantage at the charity stripe. The Trojans received 26 points from Kelton Ford including a 6-9 performance from beyond the arc while Musa abdul-Aleem netted 23 points with four more threes. Kevin Thomas provided some muscle in the paint with ten points and 12 rebounds followed bya seven point, six board and six assist performance from Wesley Person Jr.
The Mountaineers are 16-6 ATS in their last 22 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600 and 16-6 ATS in their last 22 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. Appalachian State are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 road games and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Trojans are 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400 and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS win. The number looks about right and there aren't many edges to exploit so I'll take the points...
