The Portland Pilots look to right their recent struggles when the Pacific Tigers come to the Chiles Center.
The Pacific Tigers score and allow around 66 points so the question is whether they can be competitive in the West Coast and so far the answer is no with a 2-5 record. The Tigers did pick up a 59-57 victory against visiiting San Diego Saturday as a 2.5 point home dog. The Toreros mustered only 29% marksmanship but stayed alive with eight more looks forged on 18 turnovers with The Tigers not taking advantage with 39% shooting. Pacific leaned on TJ Wallace for scoring and he responded with a game high 22 points and seven boards on 6-13 from the floor with Ray Bowles tossing in 12 points. David Taylor and Dulani Robinson added nine and seven points with Eric Thompson posting a contest high eleven rebounds.

The Portland Pilots might have reached a pivitol point in the schedule as a 2-5 record means that a few more defeats and a top four finish in the conference is out of reach. The bottom line for this team is they can score the basketball which we have seen but they struggle to get stops and opponents are lighting up the scoreboard. The Pilots suffered loss number three in a row after a 67-63 loss at Pepperdine Saturday. Portland held a slight 41.8%-39% shooting edge with three more baskets not able to stand up to Waves nine more free throws. While Pepperdine had five players score in double figures the Pilots turned relied on Kevin Bailey who pumped in a game high 28 points on 9-15 shooting with the tandem of Thomas van der Mars and Jason Todd adding nine points with Todd hauling in 12 rebounds.
The Tigers are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 road games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. Pacific are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 vs. West Coast. The Pilots are 4-0-2 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record and 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a winning road record. Portland are 12-2 ATS in their last 14 Thursday games and 6-2-2 ATS in their last 10 games overall. Portland is the better squad but the numbers against like competition are mixed so I give a slight edge to the points...
