I once thought the Indiana State Sycamores were going to labor in the bottom half of the Missouri Valley. That was before the Sycamores won five in a row but now I don't know what to think after back to back defeats capped off by a tough 66-60 loss at Northern Iowa on Wednesday. Both teams hit shots in the 40%-41% range with ISU mustering eight more looks to stay close although the Panthers won it with a 21-12 performance at the charity stripe. The combo of Justin Gant and Brenton Scott netted 13 points apiece with Gant pacing the team with seven rebounds. Devonte Brown was next in line with ten points followed by TJ Bell with seven and Tre Bennett with six points. Every player in the nine man rotation managed to score.
The Ramblers are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 road games and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games following a ATS loss. Loyola (Chicago) are 6-16-1 ATS in their last 23 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall. The Sycamores are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. Indiana State are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 6-1 ATS in their last 7 vs. Missouri Valley. The Ramblers are on the verge of a slump and Indiana State is always playing close game.
