The Toledo Rockets tangle with the Bowling Green Falcons at Savage Hall in Saturday night MAC action.
The Bowling Green Falcons have leaned on their defense throughout the season and this unit has gotten the job done in a 4-1 start to the MAC schedule with a high of 64 points given up in the wins. The Falcons had little trouble in disposing Eastern Michigan 74-58 on Wednesday as an eleven point lead only expanded over the final 20 minutes. The Eagles were limited to 36% from the floor while BGSU sank shots at 45.5% including an 11-25 mark from deep to build and hold the lead. Anthony Henderson led all scorers with 17 points and six yanks followed by Richaun Holmes with 13 points and ten boards. Delvin Dickerson added 12 points with Zack Denny and Jehvon Clarke combining for 19 points with Denny hauling in ten rebounds.

The Toledo Rockets like to get out and run the floor and light up the scoreboard so they can be vulnerable when missing shots or forced in to the half court. It was a little of both Saturday 67-60 defeat at Kent State where both teams connected at 48% with a 3-16 performance on threes hurting them while the Golden Flashes sank a few more bombs and a 10-5 advantage at the charity stripe. The Rockets had plenty of balance but lacked explosiveness with Nathan Boothe and Jonathan Williams each posting 12 points with Boothe snagging six boards while Justin Drummond netted eleven points. The twosome of JD Weatherspoon and Julius Brown combined for 19 points with Weatherspoon posted five yanks. The starting five scored all but six points but the Rockets only went with a seven man rotation.
The Falcons are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. Bowling Green are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600 and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. win. The Rockets are 6-2-1 ATS in their last 9 games following a ATS loss and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. Toledo are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 Saturday games. I like the make up of Bowling Green but if they falter defensively Toledo will run right over them...
