The Memphis Tigers are out for revenge when they visit the Devlin Fieldhouse to face the Tulane Green Wave.
The Memphis Tigers lost talent to graduation which seems to have hurt the team's scoring prowess although the defensive end of the floor remains solid. Neither end of the floor performed well in Wednesday's 73-55 loss at conference leader Tulsa. The Golden Hurricane went wire to wire with 40% shooting and 14 more looks thanks to 17 Memphis giveaways that made the Tigers 41% accuracy a losing effort. Avery Woodson paced the offense with 15 points and eight rebounds with Austin Nichols adding 12 points and six boards. Shaq Goodwin was next in line with just six points while eleven players landed in the scoring column but not enough to stay competitive.

The Tulane Green Wave are trying to make a huge impact in the AAC in their first season since coming over from the CUSA. The Green Wave have decent scoring and defense but whether 'decent' gets the job done in a competitive conference is the question. It wasn't in Wednesday's 66-52 defeat to visiting Southern Methodist with the Mustangs going on a 33-22 second half run to bust open a close contest. SMU did their damage on 43%shooting which was more then enough with Tulane held to 33% marksmanship. Offense was a precious commodity with Louis Dabney the go to scorer with 16 points on 4-8 from the field with Jay Hook netting 14 points while grabbing seven boards. Trevante Drye scored five points and snagged another seven rebounds but the team simply never found the shooting touch.
The Tigers are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games following a S.U. loss and 19-7 ATS in their last 26 games following a ATS loss. Memphis are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and 2-7 ATS in their last 9 road games. The Green Wave are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games following a double-digit loss at home and 10-3 ATS in their last 13 games following a ATS loss. Tulane are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games following a S.U. loss and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. I think this is a game Memphis needs so they prove they can win on the road versus a team with a pulse...
