The Hawaii Warriors hope to continue their hot play at home when the UC Irvine Anteaters visit Saturday.
The UC Irvine Anteaters were not a favorite in the Big West but they are playing as well as anybody in the conference. This team has weapons at both ends of the floor but it's too early to draw conclusions. After losing their league opener the Anteaters have ripped off three wins in a row after Thursday's 80-49 rout of UC Northridge on the road. UCI took control early with a 21 points leat at the break and were never challenged with 50% shooting and an 8-19 effort on threes easily dooming the Matadors and their 29.6% accuracy. Luke Nelson led the scoring spree with 16 points with Travis Sousa right on his heels with 15 points. Will Davis II added eleven points and seven boards while Jaron Martin chipped in with eight points. The Anteaters cleared the bench with 12 players seeing the floor.

It is a bit tough figuring where the Hawaii Warriors fit in the Big West because we've seen them play just one true road game while cleaning up on their own floor. UC Davis received a lesson on the Warriors home court advantage after Thursday's 84-76 loss in which they trailed by eleven after 20 minutes jand could never fully recovered. The Aggies hit at 52% from the floor but gave the ball away 24 times giving the 51% shooting Warriors 15 more looks at the basket and that was the difference with UH posting eight turnovers. Aaron Valdes tossed in a contest best 21 points on 8-16 from the field followed by Stefan Jankovic and Mike Thomas with 13 points apiece. Roderick Bobbitt and Garrett Nevels netted another nine points each with points coming from nine players.
The Anteaters are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games after allowing less than 50 points in their previous game and 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. UC Irvine are 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. win and 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 road games. The Warriors are 8-1 ATS in their last 9 home games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. Hawaii are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a losing road record and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall. Beating Hawaii on the road might be a difficult task for the rest of the Big West but in my view the Anteaters are one of a few teams that have a shot although I need around three points...
