The Manhattan Jaspers look to cool down the Monmouth Hawks when they take the floor at Draddy Gymnasium.
The Monmouth Hawks are trying to make an impact in the MAAC in only their second year in the conference and so far it's been mission accomplished with the Hawks tied for first with Iona at 7-2. This team is led by a defense that allows 63 points although the offense lent a helping hand in a 69-58 victory versus Niagara Friday for a three game winning streak. This game was decided in the first 20 minutes with the Hawks up 20 before holding off a late Purple Eagles rally. The difference was shooting accuracy with Monmouth hitting at 47% while Niagara was held to 31.8%. Justin Robinson led the offense with 16 points with Collin Stewart and Max DiLeo adding 12 and eleven points with DiLeo posting six boards. Andre Nicholas and Austin Tilghman combined for 15 points as the entire nine man rotation scored.

The Manhattan Jaspers were one of the top teams in the MAAC over the past few years but where they end up this season is an unknown at this point. Anything is still possible with the Jaspers battling for a top four spot in the conference at 5-4. Those hopes took a step in the wrong direction with a 73-59 loss at Quinnipiac on Friday night. The Bobcats took a ten point lead with them in to the intermission and slowly built the lead up even further on 43% accuracy while the visitors hit at 33% which rendered their 13 more looks null and void. Emmy Andujar shouldered the scoring load with 25 points and 12 rebounds on 10-20 from the field with Ashton Pankey scoring 18 points on 6-12. RaShawn Stores netted seven points and posted five assists but the rest of the team totaled nine points.
The Hawks are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600 and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games. Monmouth are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Jaspers are 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 games following a ATS loss and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 home games while going 3-11 ATS in their last 14 home games vs. a team with a winning road record. I have trouble pinning down Manhattan so when I back Momouth I do so knowing I would need four points to bet...
