The Valparaiso Crusaders square off with conference rival the Milwaukee Panthers on Monday night.
The Milwaukee Panthers appeared to be taking positive steps the past week with back to back wins but that's where the good times ended as Oakland wasn't a kind host in a 66-53 decision on Thursday. The Panthers were up one at the half before the Golden Grizzlies took control at both ends of the floor to win going away. Oakland shot the ball at 53% with the visitors hitting at 40% with a 3-23 effort from long range being their downfall. JJ Panoskie hit 7-10 for 15 points with Matt Tiby contributing 13 points and seven boards. Steve McWhorter followed with eleven points and six helpers while Akeem Springs chipped in with ten points and five yanks but the rest of the team scored just four points.

The Valparaiso Crusaders are about as consistent the day is long because they possess above average scoring and defense which says they can win with either way and are simply a handful when everything is clicking. The offense wasn't clicking in a 51-50 defeat at Green Bay on Friday as the Crusaders gave up a late lead. Defense was the name of the game with the Phoenix holding a 40.7%-34.5% shooting edge with very little difference otherwise. E. Victor Nickerson was the only double digit scorer with ten pointsand five yanks on 4-11 shooting while Alec Peters scored nine points. Vashil Fernandez was next in line with eight points, four pulls and four blocks while Tevonn Walker added seven points and 13 rebounds.
The Panthers are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games overall and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. Milwaukee are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. loss and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS loss. The Crusaders are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 vs. Horizon League. Valpo are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 home games following three or more consecutive road games. Anything is possible with the huge spreads but I don't think Valpo can afford to let down so...
