The struggling Eastern Michigan Eagles are looking to get a win versus the Ohio Bobcats in Tuesday night MAC action.
The Ohio Bobcats have been a conference power for a number of years but have kicked of the MAC schedule somewhat slow at 0-4 before winning consecutive games capped off by a 63-61 decision versus a dangerous Buffalo squad. The Bobcats turned to their defense in this one with the Bulls held to only 36% shooting including just 4-22 on threes which negated eleven more looks at the basket. The Eastern Michigan Eagles looked very impressive during their non conference slate but have since struggled once the conference schedule began. The Eagles bring in a 1-5 MAC record after 65-51 defeat at Central Michigan as the Chippewas jumped to a 13 point lead at the break with EMU never able to get back in the game. The Eagles hit at 30.5% and were only 6-26 on threes while the Chips sank shots at 36.5% but were 10-29 from long range and made eight more free throws. Raven Lee did the bulk of the scoring with a contest high 18 points on 6-17 from the floor but he was the only player in double figures. Mike Talley and Brandon Nazione combined for 17 points with Nazione snagging a team high eight rebounds.
The Bobcats are 17-35 ATS in their last 52 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record and 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games overall. Ohio are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 vs. Mid-American and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600. The Eagles are 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 home games vs. a team with a losing road record and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games. Eastern Michigan are 3-12-1 ATS in their last 16 vs. Mid-American and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following a S.U. loss. Ohio has done well the past two times out and Eastern Michigan is in a funk. Karrington Ward is questionable so please check back when a line is released...
