The William & Mary Tribe battle conference rival the Hofstra Pride at William & Mary Hall Wednesday.
The Hofstra Pride have loads of offensive firepower to score with most teams at nearly 79 points but can a defense that allows 67 points hold up? On Saturday neither end of the floor impressed in a 69-63 defeat at the hands of visiting James Madison. This one appeared hesded for the win column with the Pride up 12 at the brske before the Dukes ended the game on a 36-18 tear. I constantly say the William & Mary Tribe can look outstanding and poor from half to half which makes them difficult to predict and wager on. At the end of the day the good outweighs the bad with the team fighting for the top spot in the Colonial Athletic with a 6-2 record after knocking off Northeastern 78-62 as they built an eleven point lead and squashed a late Huskies comeback to win easily. The Huskies were held to under 41% marksmanship including just 2-20 from beyond the arc while the Tribe fired away at nearly 53% which was decisive. William & Mary received a game high 19 points and five yanks from Omar Prewitt with Sean Sheldon and Terry Tarpey adding 15 points each with Tarpey snagging a team high eight rebounds. Marcus Thornton added 13 points while eight players scored overall.
The Pride are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 road games following three or more consecutive home games and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600. Hofstra are 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 road games and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. The Tribe are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and 6-2 ATS in their last 8 home games. W&M are 7-3-1 ATS in their last 11 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600 and 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games following a S.U. win. I am laying off W&M games because I don't know if they are consistent for 40 minutes...
