The East Carolina Pirates look to slow down the Cincinnati Bearcats at Williams Arena Sunday.
The Cincinnati Bearcats lost enough talent to graduation to the point they were considered a non factor in the AAC. Fast forward to the present and the Bearcats are an impressive 15-5 and third in in the conference with first place within grasp. Cinci has won four in a row after downing Connecticut 70-58 on Thursday. The Bearcats were up eight at the half and turned to their defense which held UConn to under 33% shooting and forced 17 turnovers. On the flip side the home team connected at 49% and held a 19-12 edge at the foul line. Troy Caupain paced the offense with 20 points on 8-9 from the floor followed by a 12 point, ten rebound effort from Gary Clark. Jermaine Sanders netted ten points and grabbed five boards in what was a big scoring night for the Bearcats.

\The East Carolina Pirates first season in the AAC hasn't been what they had hoped for thus far with not enough scoring to win. The Pirates have dropped three in a row and fell to 1-6 in the conference after a 70-58 defeat at Memphis on Wednesday as a 14 point underdog. The Tigers jumped to a 14 point lead at the half and were never challenged with nearly 54% marksmanship easily outdistancing the Pirates 43.8% despite a 13-27 effort from beyond the arc from ECU. Terry Whisnant was the Pirates go to scorer with 17 points on 5-7 on threes with Caleb White tossing in ten points and Paris Roberts-Campbell chipping in with eight. Even though ten players found the scoring column nobody managed more then six points as the offensive woes continued.
The Bearcats are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games following a S.U. win and 7-16 ATS in their last 23 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. Cincinnati are 7-17 ATS in their last 24 road games while going 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. The Pirates are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games vs. a team with a losing road record and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games. East Carolina are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. Nobody should take laying a big number on the road but based on potential I'm taking the Bearcats...
