The Niagara Purple Eagles shoot for a conference win against the Quinnipiac Bobcats at the Gallagher Center.
The Quinnipiac Bobcats are trying to move from the middle of the pack in the MAAC to a top four position although they have been inconsistent at times. The Bobcats were moving in the right direction with three consecutive victories before falling to Canisius 63-57 on Friday night as a five point dog. The Golden Griffins were up eight at the half and kept the Bobcats under control the rest of the way on 33% shooting wich made their own 35% marksmanship a winner. Ousmane Drame paced Quinnipiac with 20 points and eleven rebounds on 6-14 from the floor with Zaid Hearst right on his heels with 19 points and five yanks but on just 8-24 accuracy. Justin Harris chipped in with seven points and snared eight boards on 3-6 from the field.

The Niagara Purple Eagles aren't thinking about finishing in the top four of the conference but instead are struggling to avoid the basement. The Purple Eagles 3-17 record says all we need to know as the team has been outscored 72-62 with struggles at both ends of the floor leading to a nine game slide that was capped off by a 65-61 loss to visiting Marist Friday. The Red Foxes also have scoring and defensive woes but Niagara didn't get their offense going on 44% with 16 turnovers hurting them. The Purple Eagles held the visitors to 43% with Marist sinking six more free throws to win it. Emile Blackman led four double digit scorers with 18 points on 8-13 from the floor followed by a 14 point, eight pull effort from Ramone Snowden. Wesley Myers and Dominique Reid added 12 and eleven points but the rest of the team scored just six points.
The Bobcats are 5-11 ATS in their last 16 vs. Metro Atlantic Athletic and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. Quinnipiac are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a losing home record and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400. The Purple Eagles are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games following a ATS loss and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games. Niagara are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games following a S.U. loss. Betting Niagara is just guessing things go right and backing the Bobcats is close to guessing because the frequently disappoint and I'm hoping they don't here...
