McGuirk Arena and the Central Michigan Chippewas welcome the Bowling Green Falcons to town.
The Bowling Green Falcons might be the best defensive team in the MAC with less then 59 points allowed although 64 points scored is on tthe low side and puts a lt of pressure on the D. A bit too much pressure Saturday with visiting Akron squeezing out a 69-68 win even though the Zips were held to 40% from the field. The problem was that meant a few more baskets versus the 38.5% shooting Falcons whose eight more free throws kept the game tight. Richaun Holmes paced a balanced attack with eleven points and seven pulls followed by a ten point effort from Anthony Henderson. David Joseph and Spencer Parker netted nine points each with Parker adding five yanks while Delvin Dickerson and Zack Denny chipped in with eight points apiece with Denny snaring eight rebounds.

Few teams can put the ball in the basket like the Central Michigan Chippewas who average nearly 82 points which is nunber six in the game. The Chippewas have rode their scoring and an occasional strong defensive performance to a 5-3 conference mark and first place in the MAC West. The Chips picked up their third win in four contests with a 74-69 victory over visiting Ohio on Saturday. CMU took a ten poiint lead into the locker romm and held off a late Bobcats rally despite the visitors slight 47%-46% shooting edge with the Chips 11-31 effort from beyond the arc being decisive. Chris Fowler led all scorers with 17 points and six helpers on 7-13 shooting followed by a 16 point, nine rebound perfomance from John Simons. Austin Stewart and Josh Kozinski scored ten and eight points while ten players scored overall.
The Falcons are 3-0-2 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. loss and 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600. Bowling Green are 5-1-1 ATS in their last 7 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and -1 ATS in their last 5 road games. The Chippewas are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games and 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS loss. I could make an argument for either team but for now CMU at home...
