The Northern Illinois Huskies hope to avoid the season sweep when they visit the Miami (Ohio) Redhawks.
It's not too late for the Northern Illinois Huskies to make an impact in the MAC but they had better begin soon becase time will quickly become their enemy. If the Huskies do make a run the scoring has to go up as 65 points requires a perfect effort from the defense on most nights. Things simply haven't been clicking with defeats in six of seven after an 80-69 loss at the hands of visiting Toledo where the Rockets scored 45 points over the final 20 minutes to bust open a close contest behind 47% marksmanship and ten more free throws easily outdistancing the 44% shooting Huskies. Darrell Bowie led the Northern Illinois attack with 18 points on 7-10 from the field with Aaric Armstead tossing in 14 points. Anthony Johnson followed with 12 points with the entire nine man rotation scoring as well.

The Miami (Ohio) Redhawks have generally been able to put the ball in the basket but so have the opposition with the tem getting outscored 70-66. It's tough to win with those types of numbers and their 3-5 conference record says as much at 3-5. The Redhawks finally got some scoring and the result was a 79-73 victory versus Ball State. The Cardinals looked to be in control with an eight point lead at the intermission before the Redhawks closed the game on a 49-35 run. Defense was optional with BSU connecting at 58% with 14 bombs with the Redhawks countering with 56% with a 21-9 margin at the stripe getting the win. Miami (Ohio) received 15 points from Eric Washington with Will Sullivan tossing in 13. Logan McLane and Geovonie McKnight added eleven and ten points while Willie Moore and Zach McCormick scored nine points each.
