The Texas State Bobcats pay a visit to the Mitchell Center to take the floor with the South Alabama Jaguars.
The Texas State Bobcats looked lke they might be a threat to crack te top four in the Sun Belt but they have been in a downward spiral with five consecutive defeats where scoring has been an issue. Both ends of the floor struggled in a 72-63 loss to Louisiana-Lafayette on Saturday. The Ragin' Cajuns took a seven point lead at the half and held serve the rest of the way. ULL held a 42.6%-36.7% shooting edge which equaled five more baskets and the win. Kavin Gilder-Tilbury tossed in a game high 20 minutes with five yanks on 5-9 shooting while Emani Gant added 16 points and eight rebounds. DJ Brown and Cameron Naylor roundedout the scoring with Naylor hauling in nine boards.

The South Alabama Jaguars can score the basketball but opponents have no problem lighting up the scoreboard as well. The Jaguars are outscored 74-70 overall so every point is a precious commodity if the D falters. It was the offense that faltered the most in Saturday's 67-61 defeat at Louisiana-Monroe as a 6.5 point underdog. A 32-18 first half hole was too much for a spirited second half comeback with both teams connecting at around 41%. Ken Williams carried the scoring load with a contest best 23 points on 7-13 from the field followed by an 18 point, five pull effort on 8-13. Taishaun Johnson and John Brown contributed seven points apiece with the entire seven man rotation finding the scoring column.
The Bobcats are 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 road games and 5-15-1 ATS in their last 21 games overall. Texas State are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400 and 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. The Jaguars are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 and 6-0 ATS in their last 6 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. South Alabama are 6-1-1 ATS in their last 8 home games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. My thinking here is South Alabama is a better home team then the Bobcats are a road team...
