The Marist Red Foxes look to stay hot when the Niagara Purple Eagles come to McCann Field House.
The Niagara Purple Eagles main focus is getting out of the MAAC basement and perhaps being a spoiler but that's about the extent of the wish list for a team that is 4-18. The Purple Eagles took a step towards both goals in a 105-100, overtime victory over Quinnipiac Sunday. Both teams sank shots in the 47% range with the Bobcats totaling a few more baskets with Niagara hitting a few more foul shots while going 12-22 from distance. Dominique Reid pumped in a team high 20 points and snagged ten rebounds while Ramone Snowden added 18 points and eight boards. Emile Blackman followed with 17 points with Cameron Fowler and Julian Richardson netting 15 and 12 points respectively. Matt Scott and Karonn Davis combined for 17 points with Davis posting nine helpers with the offense enjoying multiple scoring options.

The Marist Red Foxes have very similar numbers as their counterparts which basically means they have struggles at both ends of the floor which explains their 4-17 record. Having said that, the Red Foxes are playing their best basketball of the season with three consecutive victories behind competitive scoring and defense. Canisius fell to the suddenly hot Red Foxes 75-67 on their own floor Sunday as the visitors sank shots at a 54% pace while the Golden Griffins hit at 30.7% more looksat the basket. Marist rode the scoring of Chavaughn Lewis and his game high 35 points on 14-16 from the field while Khallid Hart scored 13 points. Eric Truog followed with an eight point, five pull and five assist effort but this game was all about Lewis.
The Red Foxes are 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 6-1 ATS in their last 7 vs. Metro Atlantic Athletic. Marist are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS win and 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games following a S.U. win. The Purple Eagles are 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of less than .400 and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. Niagara are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 vs. Metro Atlantic Athletic and 3-13 ATS in their last 16 games after scoring more than 90 points in their previous game. It seems strange to see Marist as a favorite but they are hot and my choice...
