Moby Arena and the Colorado State Rams faceoff with Mountain West rival the UNLV Rebels Saturday.
For most of the Mountain West schedule the UNLV Rebels have been on the outside looking in at the top squads. The Rebels are in need of a big turnaround and perhaps that is what we are seeing after a 74-63 victory over Air Force was win number three in a row. The lead was five at the break before UNLV mustered some late breathing room despite a tight 46%-44% shooting edge that says this game was close and it was except for a 17-7 advantage at the stripe that was decisive. Christian Wood posted game highs of 17 points and ten rebounds on 5-10 shooting followed by a 15 point, five yank and five assist performance from Jelan Kendrick. Patrick McCaw, Rashad Vaughn and Cody Doolin each tossed in eleven points with McCaw handing out six assists.

The Colorado State Rams are one of the top teams in the Mountain West which is extremely top heavy. The Rams have the big offense to score with anybody and can defend as well to make them a very tough opponent. CSU has stumbled a bit over the past week with lossed in two of three after dropping a 59-48 decision at conference leader Wyoming on Wednesday with the Cowboys taking an eleven point lead into the intermission and holding serve the rest of the way. The Rams sank shots at a 30% clip and killed themselves with a 3-25 mark from beyond the arc which made the Cowboys 39.6% shooting look red hot. JJ Avila was high scorer for CSU with 18 points while snagging 12 rebounds followed by a 15 point, six board effort from Stanton Kidd. Unfortunately nobody else scored more then five points.
The Runnin' Rebels are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. win and 17-8 ATS in their last 25 road games. UNLV are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. The Rams are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. Colorado State are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 vs. Mountain West and 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 games after scoring less than 50 points in their previous game but are 10-21-2 ATS in their last 33 home games. The line looks about right so I look to the points...
