The New Mexico Lobos look to sweep the Utah State Aggies when they visit The Pit on Saturday.
The defense first Utah State Aggies allow 62 points but sometimes the the offense has to take over and get the job done themselves but that hasn't happened as of late with losses in three of four after a 68-63 defeat to visiting Boise State on Tuesday. The Broncos were up five at the half and each team traded baskets the rest of the way. The Aggies held a slight 48%-46% shooting edge but the game was decided from the perimeter with Boise State holding an 11-6 edge on threes. David Collette paced four double digit scorers with 17 points and six pulls on 8-11 shooting with Chris Smith next up with 16 points. Jalen Moore and Darius Perkins netted 15 and 13 points but Utah State received only two points from the rest of the team.

I believe the New Mexico Lobos have reached the point in the season where a prolonged hot streak is needed if there is going to be any chance of heading to the Big Dance. A 53-49 loss at Air Force on Wednesday was defeinitely a step in the wrong direction with the defense unable to win all by their lonesome. Both teams connected at around 40% with 14 UNM giveaways turning in to five more looks at the hoop and a few more baskets which did the trick. Hugh Greenwood led the New Mexico offense with 15 points on 5-10 shooting with all his makes being threes. Leading scorer Deshawn Delaney tossed in 14 points and posted five pulls on 6-8 accuracy but the bottom line was the supporting cast generated little in secondary scoring.
The Aggies are 8-17-1 ATS in their last 26 games following a ATS loss and 6-14 ATS in their last 20 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600. The Lobos are 14-3 ATS in their last 17 games after scoring less than 50 points in their previous game and 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games following a ATS loss. New Mexico are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 home games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. This looks like a tossup at this number so in a low scoring contest...
