The Detroit Titans shoot for the season sweep of the Illinois (Chicago) Flames at Calihan Hall.
The Illinois (Chicago) Flames are simply looking to avoid the basement in the Horizon League and perhaps move up a wrung or two in time for the postseason. That's entirely possible but we would need more scoring and stoping power on defense and neither has been a strength this year. The Flames had visiting Oakland on the ropes through 20 minutes before the Golden Grizzlies went on a 50-37 second half tear to win 91-77 on Wednesday. At he final buzzer the Golden Grizzlies were simply to hot to contain with 60% marksmanship with UIC hitting at 49%. Ahman Fells paced the Flames offense with 19 points and eight rebounds on 7-11 from the floor with Paris Burns adding 20 points and nine assists. Markese McGuire netted 16 points but the defense couldn't support a productive scoring effort.

Even though the Detroit Titans are just 4-6 in the conference they are very much alive for 4th in the conference with Oakland although the top three squads seem to be set and it would take a hot finish andd help to finish any higher. The Titans can score the basketball but can be scored on which we saw in a 78-70 loss at Valparaiso on Wednesday. The Crusaders burned the nets at 56.5% with the Titans hitting at 38% with 12 extra looks at the basket combined with a 10-23 effort from beyond the arc keeping the scoreboard competitive. Leading scorer Juwan Howard Jr. led the way with 19 points on 4-5 on threes with Paris Bass next in line with 14 points and five yanks. Chris Jenkins tossed in 13 points while Anton Wilson netted eight points and posted five boards as eight players found the scoring column.
The Flames are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games following a double-digit loss at home and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games after allowing more than 90 points in their previous game. Illinois (Chicago) are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 Sunday games and 2-9 ATS in their last 11 road games. The Titans are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games following a S.U. loss. Detroit are 5-12 ATS in their last 17 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400 and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. Neither team has been a dependable squad and UIC more so which makes this a scary pick...
