The Line: Saint Peter's Peacocks -6 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Saint Peter's Peacocks shoot for the season sweep of the Siena Saints when they visit the Yanitelli Center.
The Siena Saints have been difficult to get handle on and probably the most disappointing as they were expected to be a factor in the MAAC. Even though there is time to still make a run but the ship has to be righted now but the Saints have dropped three of four after an 87-83 defeat at first place Iona. The Saints shot 41.7% from the floor but stayed competitive with 21 offensive rebounds leading to 15 more looks while the Gaels hit at 42% and won it with 30 makes from the charity stripe. Marquis Wright led four double digit scorers with 19 points and six assists with Lavon Long adding 17 points and five yanks. Rob Poole netted 13 points and snagged seven boards followed by a ten point, nine rebound performance from Jimmy Paige.

I don't think the Saint Peter's Peacocks have enough firepower to climb in to the top half of the MAAC but I do believe this team could get a postseason invitation with a strong finish. That depends on whether the offense can find some consistent scoring and that hasn't been happening despite some rare scoring in Saturday's 69-58 victory over Fairfield. SPC took a ten point lead at the intermission and traded baskets over the final 20 minutes to win as a six point favorite. The Stags were stymied on on 38% shooting while the Peacocks fired away at 50% to account for six more field goals. Marvin Dominique gave the Peacocks 15 points and seven boards with Trevis Wyche next in line with 12 points. Quadir Welton and Tyler Gaskins tossed in ten points apiece with Welton posting seven rebounds in a balanced attack.
The Saints are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games following a S.U. loss and are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 Monday games. The Peacocks are 11-5-1 ATS in their last 17 Monday games and 22-48-1 ATS in their last 71 vs. Metro Atlantic Athletic. Saint Peter's are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games following a ATS win and are 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. There is not much difference between these squads so backing either is iffy but I side with the points in these types of games...
