The Utah State Aggies play host to the Nevada Wolf Pack in a Mountain West action on Tuesday night.
The Nevada Wolf Pack are in dire straits when it comes to their next to last standing in the Mountain West. In a nutshell the Wolfpack could win out and still not move much higher so I guess the next best thing is to play spoiler. Having said that the Wolf Pack had dropped seven in a row before upending last place San Jose State by a 60-57 count on Saturday. The Spartans were limited to 30% accuracy with a 5-26 performance from distance costing them a win. Nevada connected at 35% and sank six more free throws to pull this one out as a ten point road favorite. AJ West gave the offense 17 points on 6-9 shooting and haulded in a contest best 15 rebounds with Eric Cooper netting 12 points. Tyron Criswell followed with ten points and six pulls while Lucas Stivrens grabben another ten boards.

In my view the Utah State Aggies are not a bad team at all but I think it's an uphill battle to challenge in the Moutain West with the top four squads all but set at this point unless somebody suffers a complete colapse. The Aggies outscore opponents 64-62 so by their very nature many games are extremely close and virtually every close game has to go in to the win column and that doesn't happen. USU improved to 6-5 in the conference after edging New Mexico 63-60 at The Pit Saturday with a 47%-43% shooting difference getting the job done as it meant a few more baskets. Jalen Moore led all scorers with 19 points on 7-13 from the floor followed by a 13 point effort from Chris Smith. David Collett and Darius Perkins each contributed ten points with 12 and six rebounds respectively.
The Wolf Pack are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games following a ATS loss while going 0-4 ATS in their last 4 Tuesday games. The Aggies are 10-2-1 ATS in their last 13 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400 and 22-5 ATS in their last 27 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400. Utah State are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 vs. Mountain West. I think Utah State controls this game and wins so if the pace is slow the points are valuable...
