The William & Mary Tribe have revenge on their mind when the Elon Phoenix take the hardwood on Wednesday.
The Elon Phoenix have not had a good first season in the Colonial Athletic as they are just trying to stay away from the basement. The numbers say the Phoenix outscore the opposition 71-70 but in conference play the offense is not coming close to 71 points. The Phoenix dropped to 3-9 in the conference following an 80-69 defeat at Hofstra as 12.5 point underdog. The Pride pulled away late behind 45% shooting and eight more looks with Elon staying competitive early with 43% marksmanship. Austin Hamilton shouldered the offense with 21 points on 7-11 from the floor with Elijah Bryant adding 15 points and five yanks with eight turnovers. Tanner Samson followed with 12 points while Christian Hairston chipped in with nine points and six pulls.

The William & Mary Tribe have had a few bumps in the road but at the end of the day they are sitting atop the conference at 9-3 so things can't be all that bad. The Tribe have potential at both ends of the floor but needed a big performance from their defense in defeating North Carolina-Wilmington 56-53 on the road Saturday to avenge an earlier loss to the Seahawks. W&M sank half their shots and UNCW was held to a scant 28.8% from the floor but they stayed alive thanks to 22 more looks with the Tribe giving the ball away 20 times and with their own 18 offensive rebounds. William & Mary received a game high 18 points from Marcus Thornton with Tom Schalk tossing in 13 points and posting five pulls. The duo of Sean Sheldon and Terry Tarpey netted eight points apiece with Tarpey grabbing nine rebounds.
The Phoenix are 12-3 ATS in their last 15 road games and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. Elon are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600 and 6-17 ATS in their last 23 vs. Colonial Athletic Association. The Tribe are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 home games and 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall. W&M are 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. Colonial Athletic Association and 19-7 ATS in their last 26 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. Elon won the first match up and honestly I'd be disappointed if the Tribe didn't win big here...
