The Niagara Purple Eagles and the Gallagher Center welcome the Saint Peter's Peacocks to town Friday night.
The Saint Peter's Peacock sit at 6-8 in the MAAC and could crack the top four in the conference with a hot finish but they never seem to be able to string the wins together. The Peacocks have a chance to do some damage with back to back wins after knocking off visiting Siena on Sunday as a five point favorite. A 48-31 second half run erased a nine point deficit as 39% marksmanship and ten more looks at the basket was enough to stay competitive with the Saints 45.5%. SPC was only 1-13 from long range but did sink more seven more free throws with most coming during the late comeback. Marvin Dominique poured in a game high 26 points on 8-13 from the floor with Desi Washington adding 13 points and seven rebounds. Tyler Gaskins and Trevis Wyche combined for 15 points with eleven points coming from the rest of the team.

The Niagara Purple Eagles main goal at this point in the season is to escape the conference basement although going much further then that doesn't look like a possibility. The Purple Eagles have had their share of problems at both ends of the floor and these issues were magnified in Sunday's 91-69 defeat at Qunnipiac. A 36-19 deficit after 20 minutes set the tone with 39% from the floor unable to keep pace with the Bobcats 54% marksmanship which included a 14-24 performance from beyond the arc. The Purple Eagles received a game high 32 point effort from Emile Blackman on 12-23 from the floor with Matt Scott adding 13 points. Karron Davis and James Suber combined for 14 points but the offense needed more scoring and much more from the defensive end of the floor.
The Peacocks are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 road games. Saint Peter's are 29-14-1 ATS in their last 44 road games vs. a team with a losing home record and 13-27-1 ATS in their last 41 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. The Purple Eagles are 4-9-2 ATS in their last 15 games following a SU loss of more than 20 points and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games following a ATS loss. Niagara are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall. I'm not surprised that Saint Peter's is favored and wouldn't be surprised if they fell on their face so this game will get none of my money...
