The UNLV Rebels look for an inspired performance at Clune Arena versus the upset minded Air Force Falcons.
The UNLV Rebels have their work cut out for them if they expect to crack the top four in the Mountain West although they need to continue their current hot streak and get help. That seems to be a lot to ask for but the Rebels are doing their part with wins in four of five after downing Fresno State by a 73-61 count on Tuesday. The Rebels jumped to an early ten point lead and made it stand up with a slight 39%-37% shooting edge including an 8-18 effort on three pointers and five more makes at the stripe getting the job done on the scoreboard. Christian Wood was the star of the game with 27 points and 19 rebounds with Rashad Vaughn adding 18 points and five yanks. Jordan Cornish and Patrick McCaw netted seven points each with McCaw grabbing seven boards and posting five assists.

The defense first Air Force Falcons try to control the scoreboard with less then 64 points given up which is a necessity with 65+ points scored which doesn't leave a ton of wiggle room. Neither end of the floor has been especially consistent in conference action and both struggled in a 67-42 defeat at Boise State on Wednesday which ended a shot at a three game winning streak. The Broncos took a 25-14 lead at the break and continued to press the issue throughout the final 20 minutes. Boise hit shots at 46% with ten bombs while the Falcons were limited to 41.5% and 14 turnovers which gave the home team nine more looks. Matt Mooney was the Falcons lone double digit scorer with 12 points on 5-7 from the floor while Zach Kocur and Trevor Lyons combined for 17 points.
The Runnin' Rebels are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall.
