The Line: Texas Tech Red Raiders +8.5 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds

The United Spirit Arena and the Texas Tech Red Raiders brace for a visit from the #16 Baylor Bears.

With the regular season winding down the #16 Baylor Bears still have a shot to crack the top four in the Big 12 but they have to take care of business and get some help. The Bears have better then average scoring ability backed by the number 30 defense that allows less then 60 points which says they can win defensive struggles and shootouts. Having said this BU hasn't taken care of business with consecutive defeats after a 74-64 loss at Kansas on Saturday. The Jayhawks erased a six point hole behind a 47-31 second half scoring spree. KU connected at almost 47% and sank ten more free throws to offset the Bears 37.5% accuracy. Rico Gathers gave the offense 18 points and eight boards with Kenny Chery netting 17 points. Taurean Prince added 14 points and eight pulls while Royce O'Neale grabbed nine rebounds.

Texas Tech Red Raiders vs. Baylor Bears - 2/17/15 College Basketball Pick, Odds, and Prediction

The Texas Tech Red Raiders are mired in the conference basement as they are the Bid 12's lowest scoring offense at around 60 points and that simply isn't enough to compete with the bigger scoring squads of which there are many. The defense hase controlled the scoreboard at times but even doing that is no guarantee of winning as we saw in Saturday's 56-41 loss at Texas. The Longhorns didn't light it up on 44% marksmanship but that was plenty good enough with the Red Raiders struggling at 33% from the floor and just a pair of free throws. Robert Turner was the Red Raiders lone double digit scorer with ten points and five yanks on 4-13 shooting. Toddrick Gotcher added nine ponts and five pulls while the trio of Devaughntah Williams, Zach Smith and Norense Odiase netted six points apiece.

The Bears are 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 games following a ATS loss and 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games following a S.U. loss while going 20-8 ATS in their last 28 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. The are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games overall and 10-26 ATS in their last 36 games following a ATS win. Texas Tech are 5-13 ATS in their last 18 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record and 5-14 ATS in their last 19 vs. Big 12. Just going with the better team that needs this game...
