With the end of the regular season in view each game has a huge meaning for the 5th place Western Carolina Catamounts who trail East Tennessee State for the 4th spot in the SoCon. The Catamounts need every win they can muster at this point in the season and instead took one on the chin in a 75-55 defeat at the hands of visiting Wofford. The Terriers jumped to a double digit lead after 20 minutes and kept the pressure on until the final buzzer. Wofford did not miss with 50% shooting including a 13-26 performance on threes to easily outdistance the 30.5% accuracy of the Catamounts. WCU received 15 points on 5-8 from the field from Torrion Brummitt followed by a 12 point, nine rebound effort by James Sinclair while Mike Brown rounded out the top contributors with nine points and six boards.
