The La Salle Explorers look to begin a season ending hot streak when the Duquesne Dukes visit Tom Gola Arena.
The Duquesne Dukes have been outscored 73-70 on the season which explains their 3-9 record in the Atlantic Ten. However the Dukes are just 2-8 in their last ten contests where their scoring has been down with opponents still racking up the points. The Dukes are coming off of an 82-74 loss at Massachusetts where the Minutemen led by nine at the intermission and traded baskets the rest of the way. Both teams sank shots in the 43% range but UMass hit four more threes and eight more free throws to carry the day. Micah Mason led five double digit scorers with 20 points and five assists with Jeremiah Johnson and Derrick Colter adding eleven points apiece and a combined 14 rebounds. The La Salle Explorers find thenselves right smack in the middle of the Atlantic Ten at 6-6 although they have missed an opportunity to move up the standings with defeats in two of three. The Explorers are lookin to bounce back from a 77-69 loss to visiting Davidson where things were loosely competitive. The Widcats connected at 51% from the floor and nailed 10-24 from beyond the arc while La Salle hit shots at a competitive 47% but were only 4-17 on threes which was the difference. The Explorers received 22 points on 9-22 shooting from Jordan Price followed by a 15 point, five board performance from Jerrell Wright. Cleon Roberts and Steve Zack contributed 12 and eleven points but the rest of the team mustered just nine points.
The Dukes are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games following a S.U. loss and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games while going 1-5 ATS in their last 6 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. The Explorers are 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 games following a S.U. loss and 27-12-3 ATS in their last 42 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400. La Salle are 2-5-2 ATS in their last 9 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and 2-5-2 ATS in their last 9 games overall. I see Duquesne is not good on the road and I see where both teams are capable of covering but I don't see me touching this...
