The South Dakota State Jackrabbits hope to stay on a roll when they visit the Western Illinois Leathernecks.
The South Dakota State Jackrabbits own the top spot in the Summit League because their offense can consistently score that combines with one of the top defenses in the conference. Both ends of the floor came together nicely in Sturday's 68-58 victory against visiting North Dakota State. The difference here came down to the better shooting team with the Jackrabbits holding a 46%-39% advantage which turned out to be four more baskets. George Marshall gave the offense 20 points on 8-12 from the floor with Jake Bittle scoring 12. Deondre Parks and Cody Larsontossed in eleven points each with Larson hauling in 12 rebounds while Reed Tellinghuisen chipping in with ten points and five yanks with seven players scoring overall.

The Western Illinois Leathernecks have shown they aren't the same team they once were as thay occupy the basement in the Summit where the offense has struggled to put the ball in the basket. The Leathernecks are averaging less then 60 points over the past ten times out where they have gone 1-9. Neither end of the floor came through in Saturday's 77-58 loss at Nebraka-Omaha where the Mavericks pulled away from a close game with a 48-33 second half. WIU never found the scoring touch at 35% accuracy with 16 giveaways making the Mavericks 43% marksmanship more then enough. Western Illinois received 19 points and seven boards from JC Fuller while Garrett Covington added 15 points but posted five turnovers. Dalan Ancrum rounded out the top contributors with 12 points and eight boards but the team needed more scoring options.
The Jackrabbits are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games. South Dakota State are 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400 and 7-2 ATS in their last 9 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. The Leathernecks are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 home games following three or more consecutive road games and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 home games. Western Illinois are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 home games vs. a team with a losing road record and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games overall. The Jackrabbits look like the choice but laying the big number on the road in the Summit is dangerous...
