The Miami Hurricanes head to the KFC Yum! Center to take the floor with the #12 Louisville Cardinals.
I think it might be over stating the obvious in saying the Miami Hurricanes won't be winning the AAC championship as they are fighting to get in the Big Dance as the 7th place team in the conference which is a stretch I believe. The Hurricanes have been playing well with wins in three of four after pounding Virginia Tech 76-52 on Wednesday as a 12 point favorite. A 47-26 burst ended a competitive contest with the Hokies held under 35% from the floor while the Canes fired away at 51% and owned a +19 on the glass. Sheldon McClellan led three double digit scorers with a game high 21 points on 7-10 shooting followed by a 15 point, 15 rebound effort from Tonye Jekiri. Angel Rodriguez tossed in eleven points while Davon Reed and James Palmer combined for 17 points.

You know the ACC is a tough conference when the #12 Louisville Cardinals are 'just' 4th in the standings. The Cardinals can score and defend with anybody but have struggled in both areas in back to back defeats after Wednesday's 69-59 defeat at Syracuse. The Orange erased a four point deficit on the strength of a 41-27 second half run with nearly 47% shooting leading the way. UL countered with 42.6% marksmanship but fell well short at the charity stripe by a 21-2 count. Terry Rozier gave the Cardinals 17 points and five yanks with Montrzl Harrell adding 15 points and nine boards. Quentin Snyder netted 13 points while Chinanu Onuaku contributed eight points and hauled in a game high eleven rebounds with six points coming from the rest of the team.
The Hurricanes are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and 11-4-1 ATS in their last 16 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600. Miami are 19-8 ATS in their last 27 Saturday games and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Cardinals are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. Louisville are 6-13 ATS in their last 19 games following a S.U. loss and 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 home games. I don't see an upset here but Miami does play a lot of close ones...
