The Marist Red Foxes look to treat the McCann Field House crowd to an upset of the Manhattan Jaspers.
A few weeks ago the Marist Red Foxes were one of the hottest teams in the MAAC with four consecutive victories but since them the team has dropped four in a row to find the conference basement. The Red Foxes are not playing poorly and had first place Iona on the ropes before losing 72-68 on Friday as an eight point home underdog. The Gaels hit at almost 46% but gave the ball away 16 times to give the 34% shooting Red Foxes 17 more looks at the basket and a shot at winning. Leading scorer Chavaughn Lewis carried the offense with a game high 25 points and six pulls nut was just 8-27 from the floor. TJ Curry added 17 points and and seven rebounds followed by a nine point effort from Kallid Hart.

The Manhattan Jaspers are notthe team they were the past few years and have been a bit erratic at times which I guess should not be completely unexpected. After losing two straight the third place Jaspers have won back to back contests after upending Siena 80-74 on the road. Manhattan was a bit erratic against the Saints with a 44%-35.5% shooting edge with 18 turnovers that gave the home team a chance. Four starters scored in double figures with Emmy Andujar leading the way with 17 points, 13 rebounds and five assists. RaShawn Stores and Ashton Pankey added 15 points apiece with Pankey snagging nine boards while Shane Richards netted 13 points. Although the starters accounted for all but nine points the bench provided valuable floortime when foul trouble became an issue.
The Jaspers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 Monday games and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. win. Manhattan are 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of less than .400 and 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 road games vs. a team with a losing home record. The Red Foxes are 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games following a S.U. loss and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games following a ATS win. Marist are 6-14 ATS in their last 20 Monday games and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 home games. Manhattan baffles me at times but they have plenty to play for here...
