The Texas Longhorns look for the season sweep of the #23 West Virginia Mountaineers on Tuesday night.
I think the Texas Longhorns will be looking at a fairly high seeding in the NIT unless they can pull off the upset and win the Big 12 postseason. Of course that depends how the Longhorns end the regular season and it hasn't been positive thus far with back to back defeats after an 85-77 loss to visiting Iowa State on Saturday. The Cyclones hit shots at over 44% including a 12-21 mark on threes while also holding a 21-10 edge at the stripe and the Horns couldn't keep up on 40.8% accuracy despite launching 15 more shots. Kendal Yancy carried the offense on a game high 29 points and five yanks on 9-15 shooting followed by a 23 point, seven assist effort from Isaiah Taylor. Demarcus Holland chipped in with eight points while Myles Turner grabbed a game high ten rebounds to go with six points.

With four games left in the regular season the West Virginia Moutaineers are looking to nail down 4th in the conference and improve their seeding in the Big Dance. The Mountaineers appear to be on course to accomplish both goals after winning three of four. WVU looks to build on Saturday's 73-63 win at Oklahoma State where a second half rally snapped a tie contest. The Cowboys held 44%-40% shooting advantage but The Mountaineers used 16 offensive rebounds to total eleven more looks at the basket while combining with a 10-20 performance on bombs. Juwan Staten gave the offense a game high 22 points and seven helpers on 6-11 from the floor while Gary Browne added 18 points and 18 points and eight rebounds. Devin Williams chipped in with nine points and hauled in 12 rebounds as WVU had explosiveness and balance on offense.
The Longhorns are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600 and 9-2 ATS in their last 11 road games. Texas are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a ATS loss. The Mountaineers are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 home games vs. a team with a winning road record and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600. The Longhorns can be tough on the road and I think they can hang with the Mountaineers...
