The Wyoming Cowboys go for the season sweep of the Fresno State Bulldogs at Arena-Auditorium.
It is looking like the Fresno State Bulldogs will be on the outside looking in at the top four in the Mountain West with defeats in three of four sealing their fate. The Bulldogs have not been able to get their defense and scoring on the same page often enough and that trend continued in Saturday's 85-79 loss at Utah State. The Aggies connected at a red hot 53.7% from the floor with Fresno responding with a competitive 49% but a 10-23 USU effort from beyond the arc carrying the day. Julien Lewis paced four double digit scorers with a game high 21 points while Marvelle Harris adding 17 points, six boards and eight helpers before fouling out. Cezar Guerrero tossed in 14 points followed by Paul Watson with 12 points and seven boards and Karachi Edo with eight.

If you follow Wyoming the obvious concerns are can this team overtake San Diego State and/or keep from dropping further in the standings. Oh yeah...Larry Nance Jr. is out too and he is only the leading scorer and rebounder. It's been full steam ahead with back to back victories against San Jose State and Nevada although it was far from easy against the Wolf Pack. The Cowboys overcame a 13 point first half with a 51 point explosion over the final 20 minutes for 64-58 road win. The defense held Nevada to 35% accuracy while connecting at 45% which equaled a few more baskets which was the difference. Josh Adams picked up the scoring slack with 18 points, five yanks and six pulls with Derek Cooke Jr. adding 14 points and nine rebounds. Jason McManaman netted eleven points with Charles Hankerson Jr. chipping in with nine points.
The Bulldogs are 5-2-1 ATS in their last 8 games following a ATS loss and 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. loss. Fresno State are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record and 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 games overall. The Cowboys are 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 Wednesday games and 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games overall. Wyoming are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 vs. Mountain West and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games. Neither team covers spreads worth a hoot so pick your poison...
