The North Carolina-Greensboro Spartans take the floor with the Samford Bulldogs at Greensboro Coliseum.
The Samford Bulldogs seemed to have found the groove a few short weeks ago as they received plenty of scoring and just enough defense to forge a five game winning streak but the good times have ended with three consecutive defeats. Two have come by a single point after a 62-61 loss to Mercer as a 4.5 home dog on Saturday. The Bears took a ten point lead and then fought off a late rally with 40% shooting enough to ward off the 47% shooting of Samford thanks to seven more free throws. The Balanced offense did not produce a double figure scorer with Jamal Shabazz and his nine points on 4-5 from the floor leading the way. Michael Bradley followed with eight points and a game high ten rebounds while six others scored 5-6 points apiece.

The North Carolina-Greensboro Spartans best chance of winning generally means scoring a lot of points because the defense can give them up in bunches. Too many to be exact as their 9-20 record states so when this team pushes the score in to the 70's they have to win although it's too late in the season to make a differnce. The Spartans did snap a a three game skid with an 84-49 rout of visiting Furman on Sunday as they took a 16 point lead in to the second half and continued to press the issue. UNCG dominated all phases with nearly 52% marksmanship and 15 threes and 14 more looks easily overcoming the Paladins 37% accuracy. RJ White led the scoring spree with 18 points and nine rebounds with Nicholas Paulos netting 15 points. Kayel Locke added 14 points and nine boards while Diante Baldwin and Marvin Smith combined for 21 points.
The Bulldogs are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games overall and 7-1 ATS in their last 8 vs. Southern. Samford are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS win and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. The Spartans are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and 1-3-1 ATS in their last 5 games after allowing less than 50 points in their previous game. UNCG are 7-22 ATS in their last 29 games following a ATS win and 2-7 ATS in their last 9 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400. To be honest I'm not all that comfortable here but I'm siding with the points...
