The East Carolina Pirates head to the Sunshine State in search of their first road win at the Central Florida Knights.
The East Carolina Pirates biggest issue is a lack of scoring punch and although teams can survive offensive issues you still need top put up points and the Pirates are inconsistent in that area and moreso on the road. Scoring has been an issue in losing three of four capped off by 60-49 defeat at the hands of visiting Connecticut where a nine point lead was gone in the blink of an eye with the Huskies rolling up a 36-15 second half advantage. UConn hit at 39% overall and sank more threes and foul shots to pull away from the 33% shooting Pirates. Marshall Guilmette gave ECU 13 points and seven boards followed by an eleven point effort from BJ Tyson. Caleb White and Terry Whisnant combined for 16 points but only nine points came from the rest of the lineup.

The Central Florida Knights are similar to their counterparts in that they don't light up the scoreboard which tends to complicate things if the defensive end of the floor struggles. That's exactly what happened in Wednesday's 83-60 loss at Cincinnati where the Bearcats led by 13 after 20 minutes and kept their foot on the gas until the final buzzer. Cinci simply didn't miss often on nearly 65% marksmanship and the Knights 38% shooting wasn't enough despite totaling 15 more looks. UCF was balanced but not explosive on the attack with Brandon Goodwin netting 12 points with Adonys Henriquez and Justin McBride combining for 21 points. Daiquan Walker and Staphon Blair added eight and six points with Blair snagging a team high eight rebounds.
The Pirates are 6-0-1 ATS in their last 7 games following a S.U. loss and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. East Carolina are 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 games overall and 7-2-1 ATS in their last 10 vs. American Athletic Conference. The Knights are 7-15-2 ATS in their last 24 games following a ATS loss and 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 home games. Central Florida are 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 games overall and 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 vs. American Athletic Conference. I'd say there are other games to bet then this thing of beauty because this one stinks...
