It looks as if the Northern Colorado Bears will be finishing somewhere near the middle of the pack in the Big Sky as their big offense has had to deal with a porous defense with mixed results. The Bears outscore opponents 75-74 and are 7-8 in the conference after ending a four game slide with a 77-67 victory against visiting Southern Utah. Northern Colorado had rout on their minds with a 14 point lead at intermission with the Thunderbirds closing the gap to six before their rally ran out of steam. UNC had a 52%-46% shooting edge but won it on the strength of 19-8 advantage at the foul line. Dominique Lee was unstoppable with a contest high 25 points and ten rebounds on 10-11 shooting with Tevin Svihovec adding 14 points and nine boards. Jordan Wilson, Cameron Michael, Cody McDavis and Tim Huskisson each scored 8-9 points to give the Bears plenty of options.
The Lumberjacks are 4-0-1 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600 and 5-0-1 ATS in their last 6 road games vs. a team with a winning home record. NAU are 7-1-1 ATS in their last 9 road games and 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. The Bears are 16-35 ATS in their last 51 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 home games vs. a team with a losing road record. Northern Colorado are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 home games and 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall. Possibly the hottest team in the Big Sky getting points? Okay...
