The Ohio Bobcats chance at competing for the MAC crown has come and gone in what looks to be a rebuilding type season. The Bobcats have dropped six in a row with neither end of the floor able to come through. Ohio is coming off of a 70-58 defeat at Akron in which poor shooting did them in. The Zips hit shots at 42.6% and were 11-28 from beyond the arc while the visitors never found the shooting touch at 32% with a 6-26 performance on threes hurting them. Antonio Campbell was the go to scorer with a contest high 17 points and eleven rebounds on 7-10 shooting while Javarez Wilson and Maurice Ndour netted 13 points apiece with Ndour snagging seven boards. Stevie Taylor rounded out the top contributors with seven points but nobody else managed to score more then three points.
With just two games remaining in the regular season the Buffalo Bulls might be hitting their stride at the right time with four consecutive victories where the scoring and defense have both had a hand in the success. The Bulls handled Kent State 71-65 on the road Saturday behind timely offense while shutting down the Kent State shooters. The Bulls sank half their looks while the Golden Flashes were limited to 37.7% accuracy including a 4-23 mark from distance which negated an extra nine more looks from eleven offensive rebounds and 13 turnovers. Shannon Evans led all scorers with 21 points and six helpers on 8-11 from the floor followed by Jarryn Skeete and Lamonte Bearden with 14 points each with Bearden posting five yanks. Xavier Ford rounded out the scoring with seven points and seven rebounds on 3-7 from the field.
