With two games remaining in the regular season the Utah State Aggies have been putting things together with a six game winning streak under their belt with the scoring and defense both having a hand in the success. A 74-60 win at Air Force capped off the hot streak with a nine point lead at the half being more then enough to win. The Aggies 48% shooting and 12 more free throws easily overcome 12 more shots and 40% accuracy by the Falcons. Julion Pearre pumped in a game high 21 points on 6-10 from the field followed by a 16 point, seven board effort from Chris Smith. David Collete and Jalen Moore added 13 and ten points with Moore hauling in a team high ten rebounds.
The 5th place Wyoming Cowboys need to win both of their remaining games and have the Aggie lose out to move up to the 4th position in the conference. The Cowboys haven’t been exactly on fire with consecutive defeats and losses in four of six after a 69-57 defeat at UNLV on Saturday. The Running Rebels had advantages in most areas with a 48%-38.5% edge while going 11-19 from beyond the arc with four more makes at the charity stripe. Josh Adams carried the offense with a contest high 24 points on 8-15 marksmanship while Derek Cooke Jr. added ten points and seven boards but was just 4-10 from the field. Riley Grabau and Larry Nance Jr. scored nine points apiece with Nance leading the Cowboys with nine rebounds.
The Aggies are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games following a S.U. win and 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games overall. Utah State are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 road games and 16-5 ATS in their last 21 vs. Mountain West. The Cowboys are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games following a ATS loss and 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 Wednesday games. Wyoming are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. Utah State is playing well but sweeping a team on their own floor won’t be easy…
