The Lipscomb Bison scored a 76-73 overtime victory over the Northern Kentucky Norse where both teams trade blows for 45 minutes. When the final horn sounded the better shooting team had just enough to advance to the semifinals. The Norse sank shots at 44% with 14 more shots with an 11-23 performance from down town keeping this game tight. On the flip side the Bison hit at 49% but were just 6-19 from distance although they dominated the foul line with a decisive 24-8 advantage. Martin Smith paced three double digit scorers with 13 points on 5-8 from the floor while Josh Williams added 12 points and five yanks. Nathan Moran netted eleven points while Talbot Denny and JC Hampton combined for another 17 points.
The North Florida Ospreys have been explosive on the offensive end of the virtually the entire season and even more so the past three weeks of the year where 80 points was a walk in the park. The Ospreys ended the regular season on a five game winning streak and carried that momentum in to an 81-67 quarterfinal win versus Stetson. UNF powered their way to a 17 point first half lead to end this from a competitive standpoint. The Ospreys burned the nets at over 52% including a 14-29 effort from distance to easily outdistance the Hatters 42.6% accuracy and 4-16 mark on threes. Beau Beech led they Ospreys with 19 points and ten rebounds on 7-14 from the field with Dallas Moore dropping 16 points. Trent Mackey and Chris Davenport added 12 points apiece with four others contributing between 5-6 points.
The Bison are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games following a S.U. win and 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 road games. Lipscomb are 3-0-1 ATS in their last 4 games overall and 7-1 ATS in their last 8 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600. The Ospreys are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall. North Florida are rolling and I think the only chance Lipscomb puts up a boatload of points…
