The IUPUI Jaguars were something of an afterthought during the regular season at 10-20 overall with a 6-10 record. You can blame that on not enough scoring at 60 points scored and 67 given up which is not a good situation. Things took a turn for the worse when the Jaguars ended this season losing seven of nine. The Jaguars were 0-6 against top 100 squads including a pair of defeats to Summit rival South Dakota State. Indiana-Purdue was a score by committee team that does not field a double figure scorer. Marcellus Barksdale, DavRon Williams and Mason Archie II average between 7-9 points and all need to have a big day for this team to advance beyond the quarterfinals.
The Oral Roberts Golden Eagles are one of those mid majors that seem to be a danger to the unsuspecting. The Golden Eagles were no pushovers at 17-13 overall and 10-6 in the conference but their numbers didn’t jump off the page as they scored and allowed around 69 points with a season opening win against Tulsa easily being their best win although ORU wouldn’t beat the Golden Hurricane right now. The Golden Eagles biggest threat is Obi Emegano with his 18 points and 4.7 boards on nearly 47% marksmanship with Korey Billbury adding another 14 points. Denell Henderson and Bobby Word at nine and 7.5 points are the pair that need to step up the production but in my view it comes down to Oral Roberts getting stops.
The Jaguars are 18-37 ATS in their last 55 games following a ATS loss and 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games overall. IUPUI are 2-7 ATS in their last 9 vs. Summit and 2-7 ATS in their last 9 neutral site games. The Golden Eagles are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games following a ATS loss and 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record. Oral Roberts are 8-21 ATS in their last 29 neutral site games and 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 games overall. This isn’t a good game to bet regardless of which side you like. The Golden Eagles are the better team but this is the Summit…
