The La Salle Explorers and the #24 Davidson Wildcats meet in an Atlantic Ten quarterfinal tilt.

The Davidson Wildcats first year as a member of the Atlantic Ten was a good one with the conference regular season title going to the forms SoCon giant. The Wildcats routinely had their way with the competition in the Southern and that trend continued with a 14-4 campaign in and first in the A-10 behind a potent offense that outscored opponents 80-68 and led the way to a 9-0 run to end the season.
The Wildcats seldom were held below the 70 point plateau with plenty of scoring from multiple sources. Four players averaged double figures led by Tyler Kalinoski with his 17 points and 5.7 rebounds on 47% shooting while Jack Gibbs added another 16 points with 4.8 assists to form one of the most potent offensive tandems in the conference. Jordan Barham and Brian Sullivan added 12 and 13 points as the offense could score from anywhere on the floor.
The La Salle Explorers might not have had a great campaign in 2014-15 but they have a chance to make some noise in the Atlantic Ten postseason. The Explorers took the first step in a 76-69 first round victory versus Massachusetts. A late surge overcame a UMass lead with La Salle holding a 41.5%-39% shooting edge that combined with 12 more free throws that negated 19 offensive rebounds and 13 Minutemen looks.
Jordan Price was the offensive star of the game with a high of 28 points and six pulls on 6-16 marksmanship followed by a 16 point effort from Cleon Roberts on 4-12 from the floor before fouling out in 32 minutes of floor time. Steve Zack supplied some muscle on the backboards with 12 points and a team high 13 rebounds while Jerrell Wright and Johnnie Shuler combined for 13 points.
The Explorers are 3-1-1 ATS in their last 5 Friday games and 9-23-2 ATS in their last 34 vs. Atlantic 10. La Salle are 2-6-1 ATS in their last 9 games following a S.U. win and 1-4-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS win. The Wildcats are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games after scoring more than 90 points in their previous game and 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games following a SU win of more than 20 points and 21-5 ATS in their last 26 games following a ATS win and 21-6 ATS in their last 27 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record. I don’t like the big number but the Wildcats win if they play well…
