The Kentucky Wildcats and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish face off on Saturday in Cleveland at Quicken Loans Arena in an Elite 8 matchup of the NCAA Tournament with the winner going to the Final Four.
The Kentucky Wildcats continue to look like a team on a mission as they continue to chase history becoming the first team to go 40-0. Kentucky made quick and easy work of West Virginia in their Sweet 16 matchup getting out to a huge early lead and never looking back. Kentucky is averaging 74.8 points and they are shooting 46.6 percent while defensively they are allowing 53.5 points and their opponents are shooting 34.8 percent. Aaron Harrison is the Wildcats top scorer averaging 11.1 points per game. Devin Booker is averaging 10.1 points, Karl-Anthony Towns is averaging 9.7 points and 6.7 rebounds, Andrew Harrison is averaging 9.3 points and Willie Cauley-Stein is averaging 9.2 points and 6.5 rebounds. Kentucky is absolutely stacked and while they haven’t always won byu big numbers they have gotten the job done every chance they have had this season.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish were impressive in their last outing blasting Wichita State in a game they came in as an underdog. Notre Dame won the ACC Tournament and are 32-5 coming into this game so even as a three seed here isn’t much surprising about them making it to this game. Notre Dame is averaging 78.3 points and they are shooting 51.1 percent while defensively they are allowing 65.7 points and their opponents are shooting 42.5 percent. Jerian Grant is Notre Dame’s top scorer averaging 16.6 points and 6.7 assists per game. Zach Auguste is averaging 12.7 points and 6.4 rebounds, Demetrius Jackson is averaging 12.6 points, and Pat Connaughton is averaging 12.6 points and 7.4 rebounds. Notre Dame is 8-2 against teams ranked in the top 25 and 8-1 in neutral site games.
Kentucky is 12-3-2 against the spread in their last 17 neutral site games, 8-3-2 against the spread in their last 13 games, and 4-12-1 against the spread against the ACC. Notre Dame is 6-2 against the spread in their last eight games, 6-2 against the spread against the SEC, and 1-8 against the spread in their last nine NCAA Tournament games. The favorite has covered the point spread in the last seven meetings of these two.
The total is set at 137 and I expect this one to stay under that total and a deliberate defensive tone overall to this game. My stronger pick is on who will cover the spread and I will post that in the Premium Area as well as on the App.
