The Line: Kansas Jayhawks -26 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Northern Colorado Bears kick off the season with the Kansas Jayhawks on Friday.
The Northern Colorado Bears were 15-15 a season ago and finished 5th in the Big Sky behind the best offensive squad in the conference. Unfortunately the Bears were one of the poorest defensive units as well so their best chance of winning was scoring as many points as possible. Unfortunately I don’t know if UNC is going to move up in the standings with almost 50 points lost to graduation. The top two players back are Cameron Michael at 13 points and Jordan Wilson at nine points. I think Northern Colorado will try and push the pace but I have to see if the talent is their to remain a good offensive squad.

The Kansas Jayhawks are a foregone conclusion to win the Big 12 and I don’t say this because I know more then anybody else. I say this because the Jayhawks have won or shared eleven straight Big 12 Championships. The talent in the conference is enormous but I’ve learned to never count out KU because this team has talent to spare and this season doesn’t appear to be any different. Wayne Selden, Perry Ellis and Frank Mason bring back over 36 points back and the addition of McDonald’s All-American Cheick Diallo will potentially give the Jayhawks scoring, rebounding and interior defense. The bottom line is Kansas will be loaded once again.
The under is 13-3 in Northern Colorado’s last 16 neutral site games and the over is 8-2 in their last 10 non-conference games while going 12-5 in UNCO last 17 overall. Kansas are 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games overall and are 5-11 ATS in their last 16 Friday games. With Northern Colorado lost so much so….
