The Line: Duke Blue Devils -23 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Siena Saints open the season with National Championship contender the Duke Blue Devils.
The Siena Saints might have been one of the most disappointing teams in the MAAC a season ago with an 11-20 record and an 8-12 conference mark. Perhaps the reason was because of a bunch of injuries but poor play had a hand as well and it’s tough to win with 74 points allowed per game. Things might be just as difficult with leading scorer Rob Poole taking 14 points to graduation while Evan Hymes leaves with his nine points. Brett Bisping coming back with double figure in points will help after seeing action in six games. The cupboard is not bare with Marquis Wright and Lavon Long combining for 23 points and nine rebounds with Javion Ogunyemi looking to be restored to active status after trying to transfer out and then back to the Saints.

The Duke Blue Devils are beginning to look like Kentucky who recruit a group of All Stars year after year with most going to the NBA before reloading with another group of All Stars. The Blue Devils lost Jahlil Okafor, Tyus Jones and Justise Winslow to the NBA so the cupboard is bare…right? Not really with Chase Jeter, Brandon Ingram, Derryck Thornton and Luke Kennard coming in and would start for any team. Coach K has guys that can hit from the outside or in the paint and can play any style of basketball thrown at them and do it well. The Blue Devils have to stay healthy because the ACC has no shortage of out of this world talent but this team is definitely a favorite.
The under is 10-3 in Siena’s last 13 Friday games and is 19-7 in their last 26 road games while going 37-17-1 in their last 55 overall. DUKE are 10-1 ATS in their last 11 home games and are 10-1 ATS in their last 11 games overall while the under is 9-1 in their last 10 home games. If Duke cares to win by the number then they do…
