The Southeast Missouri State Redhawks look to even their record at the Evansville Purple Aces.
The Southeast Missouri State Redhawks knew they drew a tough opening day assignment versus Dayton and that proved to be all too true in an 84-53 defeat Friday. The Flyers opened up a 46-16 lead at the break behind 52% marksmanship and a +17on the glass to win going away. On the flip side the Redhawks couldn’t buy a basket with only 31% from the floor which was the difference. Marcus Wallace was the only Redhawks only player to score in double figures with 12 and seven pulls with Kyle Gullett adding nine points while six players scored between 4-6 points.

The Evansville Purple Aces have been something of an afterthought in the Missouri Valley which has been dominated by Wichita State in recent years. The Shockers are favored to win the conference once again but Evansville is a definite dark with horse all five starters back from a team that won the CIT title a year ago. Guard DJ Balentine can fill the basket from the outside while Egidijus Mockevicious can play center or forward and gives the Purple Aces a quality inside force. Based on the returning talent Evansville will not be a team their MVC foes want to see and that includes Wichita State.
The over is 8-1 in Southeast Missouri State’s last 9 overall and the Redhawks are 12-3-1 ATS in their last 16 Sunday games. The over is 9-2 in Evansville last 11 vs. Ohio Valley and the over is 10-3 in their last 13 Sunday games and is 6-2 in their last 8 overall. If the Purple Aces live up to the hype they have the potential to win big…
