The Nevada Wolf Pack look for their second win of the young season versus the Montana State Bobcats.
The Montana State Bobcats learned quickly in their season opening 87-76 loss to Hawaii that the Warriors could put the ball in the basket. UH took a 48-27 lead after 20 minutes and the Bobcats spent the rest of the game trying to catch up. Hawaii just didn’t miss at almost 52% marksmanship with ten more shots against the 44% shooting Bobcats thanks in large part to 21 turnovers. The duo of Tyler Hall and Zach Green paced the Montana State attack with 15 points apiece on 9-22 shooting while Marcus Colbert and Quinton Everett combined for 21 points and eight yanks. The Bobcats went deep on the bench with nine players seeing 15 minutes.

We have to wait and see the Nevada Wolf Pack play a few more games to make any claims but in their opener they were outstanding at both ends of the floor in a 73-56 rout of Coastal Carolina on Friday. A 52-33 second half run broke open a close game with Nevada holding the Chanticleers to just 30% from the floor while forcing 17 giveaways which made their own 40% accuracy look like a solid number. A balanced Wolf Pack offense produced four DD scorers with DJ Fenner scoring a game high16 points to go with eight boards. Marqueze Coleman and Cameron Oliver tossed in 14 and 13 points with Oliver snagging seven pulls followed by a 12 point, eleven rebound performance from AJ West.
The over is 6-2 in Montana State’s last 8 overall while the under is 7-3 in Nevada’s last 10 neutral site games. On paper the Wolf Pack look like the choice but we really don’t know a whole lot about many teams yet and that includes this pairing so all I can say is exercise caution…
