The Duke Blue Devils are off to a 2-0 start but they haven’t faced any kind of test beating Siena and Bryant. Duke is averaging 102.5 points per game shooting 49.6 percent from the floor and 37.3 percent from beyond the three-point arc while defensively they are allowing 74.5 points and their opponents are shooting 45.1 percent. The Kentucky Wildcats are off to a 2-0 start but the wins have come against Albany and New Jersey Institute of Technology. Kentucky is averaging 82.5 points per game shooting 50.4 percent from the floor including 28.9 percent from beyond the three-point arc while their opponents score 61 points and shoot 37.2 percent. Skal Labisiere leads UK averaging 17.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. Jamal Murray is averaging 13.5 points, Derek Willis is averaging 12.5 points, Isaiah Briscoe is averaging 11 points and 12 rebounds, and Marcus Lee is averaging 11 points and 8.0 rebounds. John Calipari’s Kentucky roster is light on experience but loaded with top tier NBA talent.
Duke is 6-0 against the spread in their last six neutral site games, 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games, and 5-0 against the spread following a win. Kentucky is 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games, 5-15-1 against the spread against the ACC, and 1-3-2 against the spread following a game that they covered the point spread.
I just think Duke is ahead of where UK is right now and I also see Coach K as the better game day coach, Calipari is the better recruiter, so I will take the points though I believe Duke wins outright.
