The UNLV Rebels look to stay unbeaten when the Southern Utah Thunderbirds visit.
The Southern Utah Thunderbirds return a vast majority of their talent so on paper they are or should be better but we don’t know that. The talent wasn’t enough versus Utah in an 82-71 defeat but they did give the Utes a little trouble before fading in the second half. The Thunderbirds sank half their shots but the 45% shooting Utes sank just as many field goals and nine more free throws. The balanced SUU attack saw Trey Kennedy, Travon Langston and AJ Hess scoring 13 points each while Race Parsons and James McGee toss in 12 and ten points each with the rest of the team scoring ten points.

After suffering a scare from Cal Poly in their season opener the UNLV Rebels had the night off in a 107-45 rout of sub division New Mexico Highlands that was over two minutes after the opening tip. New Mexico Highlands sank shots at 28% and committed 27 turnovers which gave the 54% shooting Rebels 20 more looks at the basket which included a 13-27 mark on threes and a +24 on the backboards. Jaylen Poyser led all scorers with 16 points with Stephen Zimmerman Fr. Adding 15 points and ten rebounds. Derrick Jones Jr. was next in line with 14 points while Jerome Seagears, Ike Nwamu and Patrick McCaw adding between eleven and 12 points
The under is 24-5 in Southern Utah’s last 29 non-conference games and Southern Utah are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 games overall. The over is 10-3 in UNLV last 13 non-conference games and thee over is 12-4 in UNLV last 16 overall. UNLV has dominated this match up by large margins so I might be way off when taking the points here…
