The Pepperdine Green Wave have upset on their mind when they face instate rival the UCLA Bruins.
The Pepperdine Green Wave opened the season with a tough three point loss to Fresno State before unleashing the hounds in a 91-49 rout of sub division San Diego Christian. This was 17 point game after 20 minutes and the carnage continued until the final whistle. The Hawks could not find the range at 26% shooting and an 0-19 effort on threes didn’t help. On the flip side Pepperdine burned the nets at 58% which added up to 23 more field goals. Lamond Murray Jr. paced the scoring spree with a game high 23 points while Stacy Davis and Kameron Edwards tossing in 14 points each with 13 players scoring altogether.

After opening the season with a surprising loss to Monmouth the UCLA Bruins got by the Cal Poly Mustangs 88-83 to even their record at 1-1. The Mustangs connected at 44% but stayed competitive on a 13-27 performance from the perimeter but the Bruins sank half their looks and owned six more free throws and eleven more rebounds. The Bruins received a game high 22 points from Thomas Welsh on 10-12 from the floor followed by an 18 point, eight assist effort from Bryce Alford. Tony Parker added 16 points and hauled in 14 rebounds while Isaac Hamilton and Jonah Bolden added eleven points each.
The under is 8-2 in Pepperdine’s last 10 Thursday games and the Green Wave are 8-2 ATS in their last 10 vs. Pacific-12 while the under is 20-8-1 in their last 29 overall. UCLA are 3-13 ATS in their last 16 vs. West Coast and are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 home games. I like the Green wave and think they can hang tough here…
