The Miami (OH) Redhawks improved to 2-1 (0-0 MAC) on the season as they were able to defeat the Lipscomb Bisons 70-68 this past Friday. The Redhawks found themselves down by as much as seven in the 2nd half but was able to come back and make their FT’s down the stretch to secure the victory. Miami (OH) shot just 38.6% from the field but were able to knock down their three-pointers as they should 47.1% from beyond the arc. The Redhawks allowed Lipscomb to shoot 41.7% from the field and forced the Bisons to commit 20 turnovers. Leading the way for Miami (OH) was Rod Mills who had 14 points, 4 rebounds. On the season, the Redhawks have been led by Eric Washington (10.6 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 5.6 apg, 2.6 spg) and Jere Vucica (9 ppg, 4 rpg). Defensively, the Redhawks are allowing their opponents to shoot 39.9% from the field and are forcing their opponents to commit an average of 19.66 turnovers per game.
The Owls are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 non-conference games and 0-5 ATS in their last 5 Saturday games. The Redhawks are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 Saturday games however, 0-4 ATS in their last 4 vs. C-USA opponents.
Miami (OH) is an experienced team that has a talented backcourt led by Eric Washington however, doesn’t have much of presence down low. Florida Atlantic struggled last season as they picked up just two conference wins and finished the year with a 9-20 record, however, did return the majority of their team including their leading scorer in Marquan Botley. Florida Atlantic looked decent against the Northeastern Huskies however, this is the same team that just lost to NAIA Warner College 75-72. This line has yet to be release buy as Miami (OH) will be on their home court, I’m going to take the Redhawks unless the spread is ridiculously high.
