The Line: Rider Broncs -10 -- Over/Under: See the Latest Odds
The Rider Broncs shoot for their first win when they tangle with the Houston Baptist Huskies.
The Houston Baptist Huskies are 1-4 because their scoring hasn’t been able to keep pace with their defense. That trend continued in a 92-68 defeat at the hands of South Dakota State with the Jackrabbits holding a 17 point lead after 20 minutes and never letting up. SDSU made everything with 57% shooting including an 11-20 from distance with 18 more shots versus the 36.7% shooting Huskies. Jordan Stickler led the offense with 13 points with Terry Harris netting 12 points. Reveal Chukwujekwu added eleven points and grabbed eight boards while Asa Cantwell chipped in with nine points.

If you are a fan of the Rider Broncs and follow them closely then you know they are picked to finish in the top four of the MAAC. So far we know this team has zero offense with 60 points being their high in four contests. The trend continued in a 57-52 loss to Cleveland State where a 22 point first half set the tone. Rider clearly was the better shooting squad at 47%-34% but the Vikings turned 27 Broncs personals in to a 23-14 edge which turned out to be decisive. Jimmie Taylor led the Rider offense with 12 points and six boards before fouling out after 32 minutes. Xavier Lundy tossed in ten while Khalil Alford and Zedric Sadler combined for 17 points.
The under is 8-3 in Houston Baptist last 11 non-conference games and the under is 19-7 in Rider’s last 26 overall. If you believe the experts then Rider is the better team but they certainly haven’t shown any consistent scoring ability and are dangerous to back in my view…
